Notes about Magnus III "Barelegs" Olafsson King of (Magnus III "Barelegs" Olafsson King of) Norway

Still another girl, an Irish maid, claimed to have been a concubine ofMagnus. Her son, Harald, later became known as Harald Gille and ruledNorway from 1130 to 1136. His paternity has never been conclusivelyproven; and Magnus certainly never acknowledged him as a son. [RoyalFamilies of Medieval Scandinavia, etc. (RFMS)]

Note: I have orderd Magnus' wife & mistresses/concubines according to theorder they are listed in RFMS, by using the dates of "marriage". Nodates are actually given, but they are probably close. RFMS indicatesthat Magnus had no legitmate sons, all of them being sired by themistresses which I have indicated. RFMS also lists Ragnhild as adaughter of "N.N. of Norway" (Concubine of Norway as I call her) alongwith Eystein as a full brother. However I am following many people onthe internet who have her as a legitimate daughter, being daughter ofMargaret Ingesdottir. There certainly might be more doubt about thematernity of a daughter .vs. one of his male heirs.
