My notes for Arnulph "Cimbricus" Montgomery, Earl of Pembroke say: "Withhis brother Roger, he became allies of Prince Henry against Henry I.Seized Pembroke in 1093, it was one of two castles which remained inNorman hands (Rhyd-y-gors beith the other) when the Welsh recaptured theremainder. He made Gerald of Windsor (son of Walter fitzOther) castellanof Pembroke. Arnulf had been promised the daughter of Murtagh, the Irishking but she married Seward, son of the Norwegian king instead. Roger andArnulf were banished after a rebellion - the latter fled to Ireland andlater joined his brother Roger in Normandy where he fought the English onthe side of Fulk of Anjou. Arnulf eventually married his Irish Princesswho was a widow by then but he died during his wedding banquet. Hisforfeited estates were given to the de Clares. The 3rd earl Montgomeryforfeited the earldom in 1102 for treason against Henry I."
If he died at his wedding feast, he was unlikely to have left heirs.

Chandler would seem to disagree with the chronology presented earlier inthis thread - she states [brackets represent my additions, for context]," . . . by 1102, he [Murchertach] sent his daughter Lafracoth to Arnulf, accompanied by a fleet of armed ships. He may have given a daughter toSigurd [son of Magnus Bareleg] at about the same time." She gives noindication that the marriage did not come to pass, and since Murchertachintervened on Arnulf's behalf in 1107, I think it safe to assume that themarriage did take place. Arnulf's death was at some date betw. 1118 and1122.
The only child of Arnulf that is mentioned is as follows: "There isremote secondary evidence that he and Lafracoth were parents of adaughter Alice, born around 1110." As to other descendants, she says:"Although the lines descended from Roger II and Mabel continued forgenerations, the Montgomery toponymic which had become a patronymic fromthree generations of use, died with Arnulf."
