I have been to Russell Co. Court House & Library today researching Noah Jessee. The following information is what we can verify: Noah D. Kernan, (b. 4-9-1858; d. 9-17-1936), son of Sarah Fuller & Stanford Lea Jessee. He was married three times as follows: (1) On 10-20-1876 to Elizabeth Ann Davis. (2) On 10-30-1901 to Mary Massie Huffman. (3) On 5-20-1905 to Florence McNew. Note: His name was listed as Noah Kernan Jessee on the 1876 marriage liscense.

I think there is confusion concerning Noah K. Jessee (b. Dec. 1838) son of Nancy Counts & Jefferson Jessee. He was married on Aug. 6, 1857 to Mary Kiser. This Noah K. is a brother of Stanford Lea Jessee (making him an uncle to the Noah D. Kernan above.)

There is yet another Noah K. Jessee (b. 10-2-1830, d. 5-11-1909), son of Elizabeth Counts & George Lea Jessee, Sr. He was married to Elizabeth Kiser on Jan 31, 1852.

The following are some selected death records copied during a trip to the Archives of VA, Aug 2003. I have added quickly some annotations which may or may not specifically relate to or clarify the record itself. The certificates are sometimes difficult to read, so "if in doubt; read it yourself".
