Was a American Revolution War veteran. Lived in Halifax Co, VA but moved to Shelby Co, TN with many of their ten children. Their home was located on the Memphis-Arlington Road near the Canada Road. Was in Mecklenberg Co in 1820. He entered the American Revolution in Halifax County in February 1781. Served under Capt. Stanfield and Capt Rogers;at Yorktown, under Capt Ralph Faulkner. Discharged after surrender of Lord Cornwallis 1836 Pen. R-4307. Pension rejected because he did not serve a total of six months. May have been buried in the yard of his home.
