Kittrell
Elwood DeHass Kittrell, a native of Mobile and a resident of Saraland, died Monday at a local hospital. He was 79.
Kittrell, a merchant mariner, served in World War II and the Korean War, and was also a U.S. Army veteran. Kittrell was also a retired tugboat captain and a member of the Abba Temple Shrine, the Scottish Rite, the Bowen Lodge No. 240 F & AM and the Community of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Wynonia "Nonie" Kittrell of Saraland; one daughter, Susan Kittrell of Foley; two sons, David Kittrell of Theodore and Joseph Kittrell of Axis; one sister, Lillian Barnett of Tillman's Corner; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation is set for today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the chapel of the funeral home and burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

    Elwood DeHass Kittrell, a native of Mobile and a resident of Saraland, died Monday at a local hospital. He was 79.
