From Bellinda Myrick-Barnett:
I know that I have already emailed you with a message regarding this but just wanted to post a message here to let anyone searching for information on Sena or Cynthia GRANTHAM that my speculation that my 3rd great grandmother, Cynthia GRANTHAM, born: abt. 1800 in SC, who married William HERRINGTON, Jr., born: abt. 1794 in New Hanover Co., NC, is the same person as the Sena GRANTHAM, who is the daughter of Elizabeth AMMONS and Richard A. GRANTHAM, Jr., son of Richard A. GRANTHAM, Sr., son of Edward GRANTHAM and Catherine PROCTOR, (or is she Catherine HOWELL PROCTOR?) Confirmation of my theory has come from communication with GRANTHAM researchers Jack GRANTHAM, Walter GRANTHAM and Robert "Bob" GRANTHAM. Walter GRANTHAM descends from Sena/Cynthia GRANTHAM's younger brother and when contacted by Jack GRANTHAM who asked him who Sena GRANTHAM had married Walter GRANTHAM answered that Sena GRANTHAM had married William HERRINGTON. This was after much discussion between Jack GRANTHAM and I and then with Robert "Bob" GRANTHAM. Confusion regarding Sena/Cynthia GRANTHAM HERRINGTON happened, apparently, for several reasons including the information that my Cynthia GRANTHAM was born in South Carolina while the info on Sena GRANTHAM was that she was born in North Carolina.....and really both or close to both is true.....as this family lived on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina per information from Walter and Jack. And that the Benjamin GRANTHAM shown in much family information as the husband of Sena GRANTHAM is, indeed, Sena's brother, Benjamin GRANTHAM who had, accidentally, in some earlier research information been recorded in a manner making it look as if he was the husband of Sena. Probably complicating this situation was the fact that his wife seen written sometimes with an abbreviation of her name written as S. GRAHAM/GRAYHAM might lead one to think it was Sena GRANTHAM but his wife's name was Sarah GRAHAM/GRAYHAM. It's been an interesting adventure finding my Sena/Cynthia GRANTHAM md. HERRINGTON. I'm glad I didn't give up on her. From Sena/Cynthia GRANTHAM and William HERRINGTON, Jr. I descend through their daughter, Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON, born: bet. 1834 -1836, and her husband, William H. "Bill" MYRICK, born: 1827 or bet. 1823 - 1828, in MS, son of Elizabeth "Bettie" PIERCE, born: 1790 in SC and her husband, William MYRICK, and I am looking trying to find their parents or siblings. There is a great deal of speculation as to their parents and I think I am very close to the answer, but, boy, would I greatly appreciate any input. From Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON and William H. "Bill" MYRICK I descend from their son, Calvin Pierce "Callie" MYRICK, born: 1858, who married his 3rd cousin, and HERRINGTON descendant, Harriet Katherine "Hattie" HARRINGTON/HERRINGTON, born: 1868 in MS, daughter of Rebecca Jane DICKSON/DICKENS/DICKERSON, born: abt. 1826, parents: ?? (another one that no info has surfaced on yet,) and husband: Isom/isham Daniel HARRINGTON/HERRINGTON, born: Dec., 1828, in Covington or Lawrence Co., MS, son of Harriet STUCKEY, born: abt. 1802, father: John STUCKEY, and her husband, Enoch HERRINGTON, born: abt. 1795, in New Hanover Co., NC, brother of the William HERRINGTON, Jr., born: abt. 1794 in New Hanover Co., NC, sons of William HERRINGTON, Sr., born: bef./abt. 1755 in Craven Co., NC. From Calvin Pierce MYRICK and Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON I descend through their son, my grandfather, James Martin "Jim" MYRICK, born: 1892 near Magee in Simpson Co., MS, and his wife, my grandmother, Allie Artimissa PARKER, born: August 11, 1892 near Braxton, Simpson Co., MS, (descends from PARKER, JENNINGS, EARLE, WILLIAMS, HOLBROOK, BENNETT, HALE/HAYLES, SYMONDS, PATTISON/PATTERSON (md. CONYERS,)LEWIS, WARNER, ELLZEY, COLLINS, COPELAND, TUCKER, WILLIS, COLEMAN, READE, etc..)
