Daniel, Andrew Jackson, and Robert Lafayette Elliott.
On September 27, 1866, Margaret Gordon Elliott married Williamson Fortune
Gold,
"Min", son of James Milton Gold, "Milton", and Martha Fortune, and they
had nine
children: John Milton, "John"; Laura; Julia; Julius Benjamin, "Ben";
Martha,
"Mattie"; Thomas Jackson, "Thomas"; Minnie; Charles Fortune, "Charles";
and
George Elliott, "George", Gold.
Min Gold fought in the Civil War under General Stonewall Jackson. He was
wounded, captured by the Union, and taken prisoner for one year. Min and
Mag
Gold purchased land and built their home about seven miles north of
Shelby,
North Carolina. Mag died November 6, 1921, and Min Gold died December 7,
1928.
