Mrs. Grace Hamrick Eskridge, 79, of 330 W. College Ave., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Crawley Memorial Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, she was retired from Cleveland Mills Co. where she worked in the Packing Department. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the Agapa Bible Study and the Triple L. Senior Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zeb N. and Eva Webb Hamrick and her husband, James M. "Dutch" Eskridge.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Elnora Eskridge of Shelby; a grandson and his wife, Sgt. Jeffery and Marie Eskridge of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Kim and Pat Litton and Penny and Robert Melton, all of Shelby; a great-granddaughter, Kasey Eskridge of Ridgecrest; four great-grandsons, Tanner Eskridge of Ridgecrest, Jake Litton, Zach Melton and Nick Melton of Shelby; two sisters, Kathleen Southard and Mabel Hunt of Shelby.
The funeral will be tonight at 7 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Buckner and Dr. Jim Richardson officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
