Was the son of Philip Mulkey and Ruth O'dle. Was commonly called
"Tinsley" Mulkey. He went to Illinois and many of his Mulkey relatives
followed- brothers, sisters and cousins. Their settlement was called
MULKETOWN after Tinsley Mulkey. His parents came to live with him in
their old age, and they are buried there. Tinsley was a Christian
minister, and had a mill, erected in 1855. In 1835 Old Mulkeytown came
into existence as trading post and it took its name from Tinsley, he being
the first to establish a store there.
