Mr. Paul Decalv Bell, 71, of 901 Oak Grove Road, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late William A. and Marie Harmon Bell. He was retired shipping and receiving supervisor at FMC Lithium, Bessemer City. He was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and past treasurer of Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Nathaniel Bell and Billy David Bell; and a sister, Carolyn Bell.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Shepard of the home; a son, Paul Douglas Bell of Kings Mountain; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry B. and Harold Arledge of Brunswick, Ga.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, William Curtis and Carolyn Bell and Steve and Brenda Bell, all of Kings Mountain and Jimmy K. Bell of Shelby; and two grandsons, Eric and Aaron Arledge, both of Brunswick, Ga.
A graveside service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Caulder officiating.
