No children known to have been born of this marriage but there is the possibility that Isaac, and Joshua if Joshua existed and perhaps even Samuel were children of the second (or rather last) marriage to the Margaret wife.

Remainder on Jonathan I

NOTE: Cateral items omitted
Jonathan Kittrell of North Carolina, first generation of definite proof. He appears in the record of Chowan and Bertie Counties. little is known of him until 1718 [other than the 1704 Nansemond, Virgina record now uncovered. C.S.]. Chowan County, North Carolina, 1723 Johas or Jonathan Kittrell, living in that precinct. (Vol. 25, page 186 N.C., State and Colonial Records). Jonathan Kittrell received a grant of land from the Royal Government of North Carolina. For what service I am unable to state.

In 1727 Jonathan Kittrell, a juror in the General Ct of N.Carolina.
This was Tuesday, the 31st day of October, 1727 (Vol 2 page 712, North Carolina State and Colonial Records). Bertie County, North Carolina, Jonathan Kittrell is found in many transactions of 1718 to 1739. His will is recorded in Chowan County, N.C. in 1748. Just who his wife was we do not know. It is most likely that his marriage took place in Bertie County.

Issue:
1. Jonathan II, whom we will have much later in this history,
2. John of Bertie County, N.C., carried out in this history.
3. George, who settle in Granville County, N.C. about 1760 or 1761 as in 1761 he was granted land in Granville County, N.C.
4. Isaac.
5. Samuel, who settled in Granville County, North Carolina, about 1761 or 1762.
There were perhaps other children but no record of them."

================summary of Margaret items
Hello, Cousins,

I am appending some material from a post on a Harris mailing list to which I subscribe, since my Y-chromosome DNA closely matches that of many Virginia Harrises. The post is from Mary Harris ((XXXXX@XXXX.XXX)). You may already know some or all of this, but some of it was new and interesting to me.

MEGLOHON, JAMES.

Bertie County.

July 4, 1750. September 4, 1750. Son and Executor: JAMES (“my plantation”). Wife: MARGERIT. Sons-in-law: CHRISTOPHER HOLLYMAN, WILLIAM ROADS, SAMUEL HOLLYMAN. Daughter: ALCE MEGLOHON. Witnesses: WM. WILLIFORD, WM. RASBUERY, J. PARLY. Proven before GAB. JOHNSTON at Eden house.

Meglohon, James, Bertie, July 4th, 1750; Sept. 4th, 1750. Wife Margaret, her former husband Jonathan Kittrell, son James, son-inlaw William Roads, son-in-law Christopher Holloman, son-in-law Samuel Holloman, daughter Alice Meglohon. Test, Wm. Williford, Wm. Rasberrv, J. Early.

Jonathan Kittrell is found on the tax records of Nansemond County, Virginia
in 1704. He owns 300 acres of land. Possibly this part of Nansmond later
became Gates County, North Carolina. We can't be sure of this but he did
own land early in Gates County. You had to be 21 to own land so the possible
date of birth of Jonathan Kittrell would have been 1683 or earlier.

COURT CASE Chowan Precinct September 1, 1722
James Meglohon bring action against Johanthan Kitterill, Sr. for slander in that said Kitterill called him a rogue and a thief. Kitterill was not in court.
May 14, 1723 case called and Kitterill was present but Meglohon did not appear. Case dismissed against Kitterill and court costs were to be paid by Meglohon.
