    Deceased Name: JOHN PATRICK (PAT) COMBEST
    John Patrick (Pat) Combest , 65, of Jones Creek, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Woodlake Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Pat served in the U.S. Marines for seven years. He was an area resident for the past 35 years. Pat was a past member of the Jaycees, Lions Club, and the Odd fellows. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Jones Creek. He was a car salesman in the Brazosport area for many years.
    He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Towanda of Jones Creek; three children: Robert Duane Combest of Jones Creek, Brenda Lynn Smith and husband, Richard, of San Antonio and Cynthia Ann Ormsby of Jones Creek; nine grandchildren: Brenton, Brady, Brett, William Patrick, Anthony Blake, Jonathan, Lyndsey, Jerry Lee and Joey; two sisters, Opal Patterson and husband, J.W., of New Boston, Texas and Jo Van Rompaey of Angleton; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
    Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Friday at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 at the Assembly of God Church in Jones Creek. Interment will follow at Gulf Prairie Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be: Robby Combest , Curtis Grumbles, Jim Truitt, Richard Smith, Brenton Combest , Brady Combest , Brett Combest , Will Ormsby, Jonathan Sharp and Jerry Lee Van Rompaey.
    Arrangements by Lake-wood Funeral Chapel.
