Dannie Louis Dempsey, 90, of 7228 Heritage Highway, Bamberg, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Bamberg County Nursing Center.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 23, at Spring Branch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donnie Delk officiating. Burial will be in the Bamberg County Memory Gardens.Mr. Dempsey was born May 7, 1915 in Bamberg County, a son of the late Pembrook Brunson Dempsey and Lesie Mae Kittrell. He was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church. He was married to the late Georgie Mae Padgett Dempsey. He was employed as a farmer, enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a deacon at Spring Branch Baptist Church, and a member of the Young Farms Association.Survivors include two sons, Dannie Larry and his wife Rebecca Dempsey, of Richland, Va. and Terry Dempsey, of Bamberg; a daughter-in-law, Libby Dunn Dempsey, of Cope; one sister, Louise D. Smoak, of Greenville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cooner Funeral Home of Bamberg.Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice

    .Dannie Louis Dempsey, 90, of 7228 Heritage Highway, Bamberg, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Bamberg County Nursing Center.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 23, at Spring Branch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donnie Delk officiating. Burial will be in the Bamberg County Memory Gardens.

    Mr. Dempsey was born May 7, 1915 in Bamberg County, a son of the late Pembrook Brunson Dempsey and Lesie Mae Kittrell. He was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church. He was married to the late Georgie Mae Padgett Dempsey. He was employed as a farmer, enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a deacon at Spring Branch Baptist Church, and a member of the Young Farms Association.

    Survivors include two sons, Dannie Larry and his wife Rebecca Dempsey, of Richland, Va. and Terry Dempsey, of Bamberg; a daughter-in-law, Libby Dunn Dempsey, of Cope; one sister, Louise D. Smoak, of Greenville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
