The Rev. Dorothy Kittrell , 78, Valparaiso, Fla., went to be with Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 8:38 a.m. Thursday morn-ing, Dec. 27, 2007, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with her family and friends by her side. Dorothy was born May 23, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Harold Kittrell Sr.; and one daughter, Leshia Kay Freeman; both parents; three sisters, Mattie Sessions, Bessie Leggett and Verdie Johnson; and four brothers-in-law, James Avenger, Pete Leggett, Bobby Medders and Melvin Kittrell . She retired from pastoring in 2004 after 33 years of faithful service. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy since 1946. She is survived by three children, Dorothy Ann Gailey, James Harold Kittrell Jr. and wife Suzann, and Karen Jean Miller and husband Chris; three grandsons, Mark Gailey and wife Jonette, Michael Gailey and wife Tammy, and Chris Allen Miller II; granddaughters, Sabrina Ann Kittrell and Courtney O'Barr; and three great-granddaughters, Meghan Gailey, Michaela Gailey and Makenna Gailey. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Miller, Kate Kittrell and Alma Medders; one brother, Lester Connell; one brother-in-law, Louis Kittrell and wife Mary; two sisters-in-law, Margie Kittrell and Jean Larsen; many nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Kenneth Connell; and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 2, 2008, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Rd. N.E., Fort Walton Beach, Fla. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan 3, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Sheridan, the Rev. William Nester and the Rev. Buck Dockery will officiate. Pallbearers are Mike Gailey, Stacy Howell, Al Howell, Dale Bennett, Gary Humphrey, Tommy Johnson and honorary pallbearer, Allen Rateliff. If the Rev.     May 23, 1929 – Dec. 27, 2007. The Rev. Dorothy Kittrell, age 78, of Valparaiso, Fla., went to be with Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 8:38 a.m. Thursday morning, Dec. 27, 2007, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, with her family and friends by her side.
    Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Harold Kittrell Sr.; and one daughter, Leshia Kay Freeman; both parents; three sisters, Mattie Sessions, Bessie Leggett and Verdie Johnson; and four brothers-in-law, James Avenger, Pete Leggett, Bobby Medders and Melvin Kittrell.
