From Columbus Co Recollections and Records - pp 231 and 232;
Isaac was a native* of the Ingold area of Sampson county. He moved to what is now Columbus county in 1800. He died abt 6 years later.Per Jason Bordeaux: he moved back to Bladen county in 1806. Isaac and Ann had four daughters. Nancy - who married John Watts; Elizabeth - who married Joseph blackburn, Merinda - who married Benjamin Cox; and Temperance - who - true to he name - remainded single. Their son Stephen (1800 - 1852) married Amelia Ann Fowler (1802-1869), daughter of John Fowler.
Isaac and his son Stephen accumulated thousands of acres of land to the north and south sides of Grissett Swamp.
Ann, the widow of Isaac, conveyed her life estate in a 100-acre tract on Mill Branch to her son-in-law Benjamin Cox on May 10, 1817. Stephen received his first 200 acres from his mother in 1817.
In 1976 several of Isaac Wright's descendants held public office: Richard Wright, state legislator; William Wright and A. H. Wright, town commisioners; Wilton Hunt, judge; J. R. Hunt, deputy sheriff; Elizabeth Strickland, deputy sheriff, Donald Hunt, police chief, and Miles Williams, safety commissioner. (Source: Columbus County NC, Recollections and Records)

*If Isaac was born abt 1755 he could not have been born in Sampson Co. it could have Beaufort Co.
