Michiel Fransz Witte was kaptein op het schip de "Vrouwe Maria Anthonia", een 3 mast Hoeker van 82 Last en een Surname vaarder (scheepsmaten: 82 last, lang 94,5 voet, breed 25 voet-10 duim, hol 11 voet-9,5 duim) van reder F.W. Kierschbaum.
Hij heeft onder andere reizen gemaakt van Genua naar Venetie (1765) en van Livorno naar Amsterdam. Tijdens deze laatste reis is hij door de Engelsen opgebracht naar Plymouth (1781) aldus de Amsterdamsche Courant van 30 juni 1765 en 13 februari 1781.
