Notes about Jan Cornelisz Berckhoudt

Hij volgde zij vader op als pachter van de boerderij Barendrecht. Zijn zoon Cornelis koopt op 1 mei 1732 de Hoeve de Hooge Steede aan de Rijsdijk 95 te Rhoon voor Fl.4.600. Bij deze prijs was ook al het bijbehorende land en het vee inbegrepen. De vrouw van Jan kwam uit een rijke boerenfamilie en bracht ook verschillende percelen land in, gelegen nabij Rhoon en poortugaal. Zij was geboren op de Hofstede aan de Groenendijk te Portugaal. Jan werd in 1686 aangeklaagd omdat hij op de markt te Schiedam was gesignaleerd met zijn wagens volgeladen met kaas, die hij buiten de waag om verkocht, wat verboden was. In 1730 erfde zijn vrouw de familie-hofstede aan de Groenendijk onder Portugaal met nog circa 30 hectare land.
Toen was Jan al overleden.
Jan had 4 zoons en 2 dochters.
