Volgens de gegevens in de 12th Census of the US (14-05-1900) woont het gezin in de Doezemastraat 50 Grand Rapids (Mich. USA). Adriaan is arbeider, er wordt vermeldt dat er zeven kinderen zijn geboren, waarvan zes in leven. Het lijkt erop dat het overleden kind er een van een tweeling geweest is, gezien de geboortedata van de kinderen, die nogal dicht op elkaar volgen.

Volgens de gegevens in de 13th Census of the USA (09-05-1910) woont het gezin in een boerderij, die ze gehuurd hebben, een gemengd bedrijf. Pieter en Jennie hebben het gezin verlaten. Er zijn nog vier kinderen bij gekomen.

Volgens de gegevens in de 14th Census of the USA 29-01-1920 woont het gezin in de Michigan street 79, een boerderij, Adriaan is arbeider, er is nog één kind bij gekomen. De dochters Lena en Josephine hebben het gezin verlaten. Adriaan en Maatje zijn nog steeds niet genaturaliseerd, hoewel de papieren al in 1900 waren aangevraagd.
