    Zijn zoon bedient zich bij zijn huwelijk met Willemijntje slechts van het
    patroniem Willems. Pas zijn kleinzoon heet Verkroost.

    In de overlijdensakte van zijn zoon staat hij genoemd als Willem Gijlinger
    Verkroost. De naam Geyling (Geijling/Gijling) komt in het begin van de 18e eeuw
    een aantal keren voor in Tienhoven. Het gaat om de volgende bronnen:

    Vrijwel zeker is Dirk Gijsbertse een zoon van Gijsbert Dirksz Gijling. Hij

    het doopboek van Tienhoven pas beschikbaar is vanaf 1740 en dezen trouwden in
    1730, zit er 10 jaar ruimte waarin hij geboren kan zijn.
