Na de dood van zijn vader Albrecht, is de boerderij van 30 HA overgegaan in handen van Cornelis en Jacobus en wel als onverdeelde boedel, dus ieder de helft. In 1909 nam Jacobus het gedeelte van zijn broer Cornelis over voor Fl. 30.000,- ( 15 HA dus Fl. 2000,- per ha.)

Jacobus trouwde met Johanna Dijt en kregen 10 kinderen. Dus alle Suidgeesten stammen daar van af.
