Rijnoud Grippeling had no children. He came from a large family. He made a lot of money, speculating in the stock market and in real estate in the Haarlemmerhout, a parklike property in the city of Haarlem, the Netherlands.
After Worldwar 1 he imported a special patented flour called 'Meadow Gold" from the U.S.A.
He was actually a lazy person, but he became very rich..
His partner was his brother in law, Jan Verkleij who ran most of the business. Jan was married to Bertha Beynes, a rich daughter of a railcar manufacturer.
