Notes about Hermanus Bernardus Verdonk

Op 25 jarige leeftijd moest Hermanus zich verantwoorden bij de Arr.rechtbank te Breda omdat hij op 9-9-1901 te Tilburg een woningruit met een stuk hout had stuk geslagen. De woning werd bewoond door Johannes Bierens. De eis was 14 dagen gevangenisstraat doch de rechter veroordeelde hem tot een geldboete van f.15,-- sub. 10 dagen hechtenis.
Bron. Inv.nr. 290. Parket nr. 1500 en Rolnr. 827. De zitting was op 14-11-1901 en de uitspraak op 21-11-1901.
Woonde 1947, Kasteeldreef 21 te Tilburg.
Of bovenstaande gebeurtenis iets te maken had met het feit dat hij tijdens het vrijen overlopen werd door de onbezoldigd rijksveldwachter en agent van politie te Tilburg Petrus Elshout weten wij niet, maar als er verraad in het spel geweest is zou dat best kunnen.
Bij Vonnis van de Arrondissementsrechtbank te Breda van 3-10-1901 werden hij en zijn aanstaande vrouw veroordeeld tot ieder f.5,-- sub. 3 dagen gevangenisstraf, wegens schennis der openbare eerbaarheid.
De eis was f.8,-- sub. 6 dagen terzake artikel 214 van het wetboek van strafrecht.
De eerder genoemde agent had op 4 augustus 1901 gezien dat zij met ontblote geslachtsdelen op elkaar lagen en vleselijke gemeenschap hadden. Dat gebeurde langs het openbare voetpad langs de Lovenschebaan te Tilburg.

Toen ze in 1943 40 jaar getrouwd waren woonden ze Kasteeldreef 21 te Tilburg.
