Loodsexamen op 31/10/1725, oud 25 jaar. Commandeur op de groenlandvaart van 1736-1738 en van 1740 tot 1761 voor een reder te de Rijp en Zaandam. Op 27-2-1742 was hij tot f 4000,- gegoed volgens notaris H.Hofland te Schagen. (zie P. Dekker, West Friesland oud en nieuw 1981, blz 153).
