Bidprentje in archief. Hij werd in 1906 pachter van Hofstede Marckenburg te Schalkwijk. Provinciale weg 12. Deze hofstede hoorde bij het kasteel van de Heer van Vianen. In 1884 bezit van het Parochiebestuur Schalkwijk. In 1918 werd hij
eigenaar van de boerderij De Boeije bij Nieuw Amelisweerd, Bunnik.
Krant Het Nieuws 1906 pag 465 vermeld de verkoop van de have van Hofstede Markenburg bewoont door J.C.de Bree : 4 paarden 16 koeien en 16 kalveren 7 schrammen en 25 kippen plus gereedschap en aardappels.
