te 23.15 uur - Rapporteert brig. W.B. Elschot: (2e) dat te ca 12.20 uurGerrit Kwakernaat, los werkman, geb. te ’s Gravendeel 7-9-1887, Maasdwarsstraat 15 op de werf van de Montan, Maasstraat bezig was in tegenwoordigheid van Gerrit Jacobus van Someren, ijzerwerker, geb. te Zwijndrecht 17-9-1885, V. van Goghstraat 30 om ijzeren balken van ca 700 kg in kettingen te hangen, teneinde dor middel van een hijschkraan te kunnen doen vervoeren. Vooraf wordt zoo’n balk met een klauw door die kraan ongeveer 50 cm geheven, teneinde het omleggen der kettingen mogelijk te maken. Toen een balk in de klauw hing en Kwakernaat een houten balk daaronder stak, schoot de balk uit de klauw en kreeg Kwakernaat de houten balk met kracht tegen de linkerzijde van het hofod ter hoogte van het oor, waardoor een bloedende wond ontstond en twee tanden van zijn kunstgebit uitgeslagen werden. Hierna verloor hij het bewustzijn en viel, juistmet het hoofd op een ijzeren paal, waardoor aan de rechterzijde van het hoofd ter hoogte van het oor een diepe snijwond ontstond. Na ter plaatste door den Directeur van den G.G. en G.D. te zijn verbonden is hij voor verdere behandeling overgebracht naar het gemeenteziekenhuis. Het slachtoffer kon zich omtrent het voorgevallenen niets herinneren. Van schuld of nalatigheid is rapporteur niet kunnen blijken.
