Notes about Leendert van der LINDEN

Mr. Leendert van der Linden met a sudden death from heart disease at his residence about two miles south of Pella on the Knoxville road at 10:30 P.M. on Sunday evening, July 13th, 1902. A loving wife and 10 children survive him to mourn his death. The deceased had attained the ageof 64 years, 6 months, 7 days. He was born in the Netherland and emigrated to this Country with his parents in 1847. Ever since the settlement he remained to be a resident of Marion County, Iowa. For several years he served the County as member of the board of Supervisors. The family is suffering the loss of a faithful husband and a father. The 1st Reformed church also loses one of her most loyal and quiet members. On Wednesday afternoon appropriate services were conducted at the home of deceased after which the remains were laid to rest in the family graveyard on the premises.
