agatha daagt haar voogden voor het gerecht. En de kantonrechter geeft tenslotte toestemming voor het huwelijk.
deze uitspraak is op 22 april 1862. toen na 4 weken geen beroep was aangetekent, trouwden agatha en gerrit direct de volgende dag.
omdat Koning Willem III reeds in augustus 1861 dispensatie heeft verleend voor het huwelijk tussen zwager en schoonzus, heeft het voornemen tot dit huwelijk reeds na een jaar van het overlijden van zus Fokje (ov. 11 mei 1860) bestaan. Agatha was toen net 18 jaar.
