Arie en Vroni hebben elkaar op de kermis van Obdam ontmoet.
Ze hebben 4 jaar verkering gehad en trouwden daarna in 1946.
Ze kregen zes kinderen en hebben nu (2006) vijf achterkleinkinderen.
Arie begon als boerenknecht maar werd na een paar jaar zelfstandig boer.
Ze hebben op drie jaar na altijd in Ursem gewoond.
Drie jaar hebben ze in Egmond geboerd, daarna zijn ze op De Uitgang in de Wogmeer terechtgekomen, tegenover de molen.
Rond 1986 zijn ze zelfstandig in het dorp gaan wonen in een heerlijk huis dat geheel gelijkvloers is.
Rondom het huis hebben ze een flinke tuin die grotendeels nog steeds door de inmiddels 84 jarige Arie word onderhouden.
Voor hun 60-jarige huwelijksfeest kwam Burgemeester Leonie Sipkes hen persoonlijk een bloemetje overhandigen.
Op zondag 27 augustus 2006 om 10:00 was er een mis in de Katholieke kerk in Ursem ter gelegenheid van hun huwelijksfeest met daarna een feest in de Beemsterhofstee in de Middenbeemster.
