    Eigenaarvan de boerderij "De Vogelkooiwoning" en een vogelkooi (eendenkooi)onder Delfgauw met 35 morgen en 3 hont land aldaar, 6 morgen land inPijnacker en 1,5 morgen land in de polder van Berkel, wonende op debrabantse Turfmarkt te Delft, sedert 1641 op de boerderij "HetWeerhuijs", gelegen in de polder Schieveen ten huize van dochter enschoonzoon Pieter Maertens van Ruiven aan de brabantse Turfmarkt, bijwie hij inwonend was. In de boedelscheidingsakte van 26-03-1645 wordenzijn kinderen voor het eerst vermeld met de achternaam "van der Koij".
    Bij zijn overlijden liet hij ongeveer fl.12000, na aan geld,geldswaardige papieren en roerend goed. Bovendien liet hij nog na "eenwoninge als huijs, schuijr, bargen en de plantage, met een vogelkoij envijf en dertich mergen ende drie honden lants"
    In een akte van 26 maart 1645, verleden voor notaris Quillaume de Graeffte Delft ter afwikkeling van de boedelscheiding worden weer alle kinderen genoemd, maar nu met de achternaam "Van der Koij". Dit is de eerste authentieke akte, waarin zij met die achternaam worden genoemd;zij en hun nageslacht zijn deze naam, later geschreven als "Van der Kooij", blijven voeren tot heden.
