    Na 20 jaar koningsschap vluchtte hij voor Halfdan, die koning werd. Toen Halfdan stierf kwam Aun terug, 60 jaar oud, offerde zijn zoon en was 20 jaar koning. Toen kwam Ale de Sterke die hem verdreef, en 20 jaar koning was. Aun kwam terug en was weer 20 jaar koning (inmiddels dus 120 jaar oud). Hier offerde zijn tweede zoon, en hij zou voor elke zoon 10 jaar langer leven. Na het offeren van zijn 7e zoon kon hij niet meer lopen, (dus inmiddels 180), en was vervolgens bedlegerig maar leefde nog tot 200 jaar oud met het offer van zijn 8e en 9e zoon.
    Zijn volk verbood hem zijn 10e zoon (dat moet dan Egil zijn) te offeren en hij overleed 200 jaar oud.
