Notes about Jacob de Munck

Blijkens de uitkoopbrief van 1620 waren Jan de Munck en Andries Geerinck staande voogden gheassisteert met mercus de leew meyer der prochie van melcelle, olivier wauman, michiel van bogaerde & zyn huysvrauwe. Jacob de Munck nam op zich zijn vier kinderen nl. betken, grietken, jaecxken ende lyntken smuncx te onderhouden en beloofde hen behoorllyck te leeren lesen & schryven. Hij kocht hun moederlijk deel af, nam alle schulden op zich en beloofde elk kind 100 gulden wanneer het jongste 12 jaar zou worden. Met zijn eerste vrouw had Jacob ook een hofstede gekocht gelegen te Melsele aen den berch, ongeveer 400 roeden groot (5). Nà zijn dood werd o.m. Adriaen de Munck als voogd aangesteld over de wezen uit het tweede huwelijk, die gerechtigd waren in: - de helft van de Brouwerij genaamd den donck vijver achter Beveren dorp met huysen ende schueren. - 1/4de van een huis in Beveren dorp genaamd Ste. Eloy. - 1/4de in een gemet land gelegen in Beveren opt…erghen. - 1/4de van 500 roeden gelegen in beverenbrouck t’enden de priemstraete. - 1/4de van 2 gemeten gelegen in St. Annen polder bedyckt wesende. - 1/4de in een hypotheek rustend op de hofstede van Pieter Smet te Haasdonk op toochende. Eigenaars van de andere delen waren zijn kinderen uit het eerste huwelijk, zijn weduwe en (zijn broer?) Adriaen de Munck (6).
