Gailard M. Barker 8/27/28 ~ 11/ 27/02 Beloved Husband, Father & Grandfather Gailard M. Barker, age 74, passed away at his home in Aguila, Arizona on November 27, 2002. He was born on August 27, 1928 to Willard and Clara Barker in Escalante, Utah. He graduated from West high School in 1946. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona in the fall of 1946 to work in the construction industry. Gailard was a master builder and welder. He loved to build and fly his own airplanes. He restored old model Hudson cars, and belonged to the Grand Canyon Chapter of the Hudson Car Club. As well as the Wickenburg Classy Car Club. He loved the outdoors and always loved to spend time at Barkers Reservoir in the Boulder Mountains outside of Escalante. Gailard had a huge heart and gladly helped everyone with their building projects. He built many homes, airplanes and airplane hangers for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Joyce L. Barker, three sons: Alan Barker of Prescott, AZ; Shonn (Rena) Barker and Ronald Barker both from Hobbs, NM; one brother: Larry (Seria) Barker of Salt Lake; one sister: June Kartchner of Midvale, UT; stepchildren: Bob (Sheri) Van Bibber, and Ron (Cathy) Van Bibber both of Salt Lake, Kathy (Randy) Anderson of Yuma, AZ; also many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by both parents, and 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held in Wickenberg, AZ on Monday, Dec. 2, 2002. A graveside service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary at 12:30 p.m., December 5, 2002. The family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service. .
