Jerry L. Dalebout (1925 ~ 2004) 78 year old retired Real Estate Executive, died quietly in his sleep; Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Hoag Hospital from complications of a stroke suffered three weeks earlier.The 44-year Newport Beach resident, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 3, 1925. Jerry, the son of Dutch immigrants was the youngest of nine children, all of whom have preceded him in death. The New York Yankees drafted Jerry at the age of 17, right out of high school. The Yankees later traded Jerry to the Boston Red Sox organization. After serving in World War II, Jerry attended the University of Utah. He later was an executive in the cosmetic industry with both Revlon and Chesebrough-Ponds, Inc. Jerry retired from the cosmetic industry and later founded his own, privately held Real Estate Company. He owned and operated The Dalebout Association in Newport Beach until his retirement in 1993. Jerry married Nanette Miller on November 8, 1948. Jerry and Nan were married for 55 years. His wife Nan, his son Din Dalebout and his two children Nicholas and Gina, his daughter Kerry Peters and her son Kasey Peters and Jerry's son-in-law, Ken Peters, survive Jerry.' Jerry was loved and respected by his family and his many, friends. His straightforward opinions and marvelous sense of humor will be deeply missed. Memorial services were held: Thursday, April 22 from 1-2:30, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 801 Dover Drive, Newport Beach, CA. In lieu of flowers, if you care to, please make contributions to: Newport Harbor Football, C/O The Peters, 1016 Buckingham Lane, Newport Beach, CA 92660. This is the athletic program. Jerry loved and supported.
