1. Het boek: "Geschiedenis van het Godsdienstig en Kerkelijk leven van het Nederlandsche Volk" bezat P. v.d. Bijl in 1900, toen hij te Noorden woonde.
Tot gedachtenis aan zijn overleden broeder is dit werk door Zijn Weduwe aan Jacob van der Bijl, Predikant te Kamerik, in 1905 geschonken, die het boekwerk persoonlijk inbond. (1 Mei 1905). [Bron: Aantekening in het genoemde boek].
2. Uitspraak van Alida van Commene: "Pieter is een knap man, hij leest alle dagen in 't Boek". (Zie punt 1). [Bron: J. de Jong/Festina Lente 15].
3. Pieter van der Bijl, gehuwd met Wilhelmina Hus, deze overleed en daarna huwde hij met Alida Hansum. Waarschijnlijk kwam hij oorspronkelijk uit Leiderdorp en ging later naar Woerdense Verlaat. Dit heb ik vernomen van mijn overleden tante Pieternella van der Bijl, die gehuwd was met Dirk v.d. Velden, dit echtpaar bleef kinderloos. [Bron: vdB-1920-12-05].
