It is certain that the family Ho(o)gerwerff belonged to the old closed circle of well-to-do agrarians from which came the local governors of the area; his son and at least two of his grandson serving as schout of Zuilichem in their time. Baijen and Trijnje are reported to have had several children, though their names have not yet been discovered. (Dingemans, W.H., "De Jongh (Bommelerwaard), Gens Nostra, June 1993, p. 314.)
