Voorwoord
Voor u ligt een parenteel (plus alle nageslacht) vanaf de eerste Theodorus Spaes rond 1650 tot en met de huidige tijd in de 21e eeuw. De laatste generaties zijn niet volledig omdat informatie daartoe ontbreekt in verband met privacy wetgeving van wettelijke termijnen. Ik vraag u dan ook met dit bestand vertrouwelijk om te gaan omdat in deze uitgave nog levende personen vermeld staan.
De oorsprong ligt in Hamont gelegen in de provincie Limburg (Kempen)in het gewest Vlaanderen in Belgie vlak tegen de Nederlandse grens.

De familie Spaas is van oorsprong een echte “teutenfamilie”. Dit zijn eigenlijk een soort marskramers die zowel in Belgie als in Nederland werkzaam waren en nog steeds zijn. Alle teutenfamilies trouwden vanzelfsprekend en vormden compagnieen (werkmaatschappijen) met elkaar. Derhalve komen dikwijls dezelfde namen voor als zoals onder andere Simons, Rijcken, Lenders en Ballings.
Bijgesloten treft u een flyer van de kroniek van de familie Spaas. Inmiddels is het boek uitgebracht in 2023 en kunt u dit boek met veel plaatselijke informatie, teutenhandel en foto’s aanschaffen bij de Geschied- en Heemkundige kring De Goede Stede Hamont. Zeer aanbevelenswaardig.

Via Adriaan Spaas en Catharina Claes (generatie 4 en 5) vertakt de familie Spaas zich in 4 takken:
-Geel Pieter Jan Spaas (1805-1864) en Helena Elisabeth Simons (VIa)
-Rood Michiel Spaas (1809-1885) en Anna Catharina Missotten (VIc)
-GroenHendrik Jan Spaas (1813-1879) en Francisca (VId)
-BlauwFelix Herman Spaas (1819-1894) en Jeanne Schoolmeesters (VIe)
