On presently the nineteenth of November, eighteen hundred twenty-eight, in the afternoon at twelve o'clock, appear before us Hendrik van Dijk, Magistrate of the Civil Registry of the city Nykerk, Province Gelderland,
Hendrik Hendriksen van Boeijen,
age twentythree years, born and living in Nijkerk, occupations Daylaborer, was last with the 3nd Batallion of the 7the Division National Infantry, adult son* of Hendrik Hendriksen van Boeijen, in live daylaborer having lived and died in Nijkerk, en his housewife Maria Cornelisses, daylaborer, living in Nijkerk, hereby present and consenting to this marriage and also declaring that however the name of "van Boeijen" did not appear in the grooms birth act or the death act of his father's. This is actually his legal family name.

age twentysix years, daylaborer, born en living in Nijkerk, adult* daughter of Claas Aalbertsen van Bokhorst, daylaborer living in Nijkerk here present en giving permission for this marriage en also assuring that though the name of "van Bokhorst" does not appear in the birth act of the bride's this is her legal family name,- and of his housewife Helena Harms, calling herself Leentje Harmsen van Zoeren, died in Nijkerk.

6.o. The acts of marriage announcement read here on the nineth and sixteenth of this month without subsequent opposition, and
7.o. The sixth chapter of the civil ..(medberie)...**,
after which we questioned the intended's if they are agreeing to be man and wife and both separately gave agreeing responses, have so declared in the the name of the law that Hendrik Hendriksen van Boeijejn, and Geertruij Claassen van Bokhorst, by the Marriage are bound, whereof this act was created in the presence of
Aart Gerritsen van Rootselaar, age theirty yeards, daylaborer,
Jan Brouwer, age twenty four years, daylaborer,
Renger Ebbenhorst, age thirtyeight years, daylaborere
Steven Kessel, schoemakerr, age theirtysix years
all living in Nijkerk
and with these witnesses who are not blood-relatives or otherwise related to the spouses and who with exception of the first-listed, below us Beambte (translates best as functionary) have signed, the first witness and all other parties have declared to not be able to sign, after having this act read to them.

You had to have either consent from living parents, or be legal adults, or just head of town and get far enough away that no one knew you (plus you had to find a liberal enough magistrate) to be able to legally marry.
Once the announcements were made and cleared (i.e. no other spouses appeared or you turned out to be engaged to someone else already, also, if there were children from a prior marriage, financial settlements had to made to provide for these children before you could remarry).
If you did not marry where you had been living for at least 3 years, you needed "Attestatie" (letter of reference basically) from that community where you had last lived.
