Notes about Philipus Jacobus de Vries

Oudoom Jan Rijnders wonende op de Prinsengracht tegenover de Noordermarkt, was een groot koopman in granen. De Achtergracht bij de Amstel stonden 12 pakhuizen van hem, die gebruikt werden voor berging van granen. Zijn kantoor Groote Bikkerstraat (?) door zijn oudste zoon Michiel Rijnders. De pakhuizen werden de maandpakhuizen genoemd, Januari, Februari, enz. tot en met December. Families Pauw en Salm (Palm?) waren neven van zijn vader. Jan Rijnders stierf op 75 jarige leeftijd plotseling aan een beroerte in Artis waar hij veel vertoefde aangezien hij daar lid van was. 


De pakhuizen waren naar allewaarschijnlijkheid gehuurd door Jan Rijnders, volgens de Nederlandsche Bank
