    Op 16 april is in het AMC aan de gevolgen van een Corona
    besmetting overleden Corry Meijer – Koopmanschap.
    Corry was net 75 jaar geworden. Corry groeide op in
    Abcoude als oudste in het gezin met 5 kinderen. Ze volgde
    een opleiding tot kleuterleidster en heeft in de jaren 60 van
    de vorige eeuw als kleuterjuf gewerkt op de kleuterschool
    in de Kerkstraat.
    In 1969 trouwde ze met Ton Meijer en zij kregen 2
    dochters, Anita en Martine.
    Corry was een zeer betrokken dorpsgenoot. Zij was secretaris in het
    bestuur van woningbouwvereniging de Angstelstroom, (een van de
    voorlopers van Groenwest) en was jarenlang secretaris van de lokale

    afdeling van de PvdA.
    Binnen onze geloofsgemeenschap vervulde ze veel rollen. Zij was op
    woensdag meestal te vinden op het secretariaat. Maandelijks was zij bij
    de vergadering van de pastoraatgroep voor de agenda en de notulen en
    om te zorgen dat we niets over het hoofd zouden zien. Sinds januari 2000
    was Corry een enthousiast lid van het Cosmas & Damianuskoor.
    Corry was energiek, zeer consciëntieus in het werk dat ze deed en vrolijk;
    haar lach was schaterend.

    Het wekt bewondering dat Corry het aankon om tijdens de ziekte en na
    het overlijden van haar man Ton al haar bezigheden voort te zetten en
    haar taken te blijven vervullen.
    Corry was een steunpilaar, voor haar man en kinderen, maar ook voor
    haar ouders, broers en zussen, voor onze geloofsgemeenschap en voor
    veel anderen in haar omgeving.
    We zullen haar enorm missen.
    In verband met de huidige omstandigheden als gevolg van de coronacrisis
    was haar afscheid anders. Het was helaas niet mogelijk om met het koor
    voor haar te zingen. Dat we met veel mensen uit onze
    geloofsgemeenschap in de Kerkstraat stonden om haar uitgeleide te
    doen, terwijl de klokken van beide kerken in ons dorp voor Corry luidden,
    was indrukwekkend en ontroerend.
    Wij wensen haar dochters, hun partners, de kleinkinderen en haar vriend
    Jan, haar familie en al haar naasten heel veel sterkte met het overlijden
    van Corry en de leegte die zij achterlaat.
    Moge Corry zijn opgenomen in het Eeuwige Licht.
