    Datum: Piet werd geboren op 1 mei 1922 te Amersfoort. Hij legde zijn religieuze professie af op 8 september 1942 te Den Bosch en werd priester gewijd te Wittem op 16 september 1947. Hij overleed op 4 december 2011 te Nijmegen.
    In 1949 vertrok hij naar Brazilië. Hij werkte eerst in de opleiding van de seminaristen en werd vervolgens novicemeester en rector. Vanaf 1967 was hij ononderbroken pastoor in Recife. De taken die hem achtereenvolgens werden toevertrouwd, heeft hij met grote inzet vervuld. Toen hij 68 jaar was, beschouwde hij zijn zending in Brazilië als vervuld en keerde hij terug naar Nederland waar hij voor zijn verdiensten een Koninklijke onderscheiding ontving. Vanuit het klooster van Roosendaal verleende hij pastorale assistentie aan het heiligdom van Peerke Donders te Tilburg. Vanaf 2003 woonde hij in ons klooster Nebo in Nijmegen. Om gezondheidsredenen werd hij later opgenomen in het klooster Berchmanianum te Nijmegen.
    Piet voelde een grote bewogenheid met de armen. Daarin voelde hij zich verbonden met zijn charismatische bisschop Helder Camera. Hij stond voor zijn idealen, vooral ook waar het over de betekenis van de bevrijdingstheologie ging. Wij die hem hebben gekend, vonden hem een attente en vriendelijke mens.
    De laatste jaren heeft hij veel afgezien met zijn gezondheid. Hij heeft het moedig gedragen. Piet was een vroom man die in de navolging van Christus heeft geleefd. Wij vertrouwen hem toe aan Hem, zijn oorsprong en zijn bestemming.
