Notes about Maria van de Glind

De boerenhofstede "Dickerijst" stond tot 1 november 1970 aan de rand van het dorp Renswoude. Dijkenrijs is de naam die voor het eerst in 1436 in een leenregister voorkomt. Eigenaren waren leden van het geslacht van Culenborgh. In 1609 erfde baron van Hamel. Via huwelijk kwam de hoeve in bezit van het geslacht van Reede. In 1739 stierf de laatste van Reede die gehuwd was met Maria Duyst van Voorhout. Zij erfde de Dicke Rijst. In 1754 overleed zij. Ook in 1970 groeide het rijshout nog dik langs wat eens een oude Hessenweg was, een wagenspoor getrokken door Duitse marskramers op weg naar Amsterdam. Met recht droeg de historische bouwval dan ook nog zijn naam: De Dicke Rijst. 500 of nog meer jaar geschiedenis stond dan ook op die koude novemberavond. Later op die avond van de eerste november 1970 waren daar de verwoestende vlammen. De gemeente Renswoude verwierf de Dicke Rijst in 1972 in eigendom. In de tussenliggende periode behoorde het aan het geslacht Taets van Amerongen. Deze eigenaren bezaten niet steeds hetzelfde pand. Voor 1400 was er een houten boerderij die afbrandde, daarna in de 15e en 16e eeuw een uit kloostermoppen opgetrokken hofstede en in de 18e eeuw werd de Dicke Rijst gebouwd die op 1 november 1970 nog duidelijk herkenbaar was als een ooit welvarende Saksische boerderij. De eigenaren bewoonden de boerderij nooit, zo min bewerkten zij de grond, dat deden de bewoners. Uit de archieven komen de namen Reyners, Tijmensen, Hendriksen, Overeem, van Ginkel, van de Glind, van de Fliert en als laatste van Wilgenburg. De oude Hessenweg werd het Dicke Rijst laantje en aan de noordkant van waar zo lang de hoeve stond kwam een tennisclub.
