Notes about Arien Willemsz Schimmel

Op 22 Oktober 1763 huurde Arien Willemsz Schimmel van Godard Ph. C. Theodorus baron van Capellen, borgermeester van Zutphen hofstede bestaande in huysinge, bergen en schuuren, bakhuys en schaapschot met boomgaard bouwlanden en heetvelden in De Bilt, in de Bunten (renversaal akte).
In 1766 woonde Arie op boerderij Leijenoord, vroeger gelegen aan de Leijenseweg in De Bilt (nu Bilthoven genoemd). Hij pachtte de boerderij toen voor fl. 410 p/j van G.Ph.C.Th. van der Capellen burgemeester van Zutphen.
In 1805 deed de Wde. Arie Schimmel de bedrijfsvoering over aan haar schoonzoon en dochter Evert Janse van Ooijen (overl. 1842) en Cornelia Schimmel (overl. 1841) in ruil voor de kosten van de inboedel (fl. 4063,-) en de verzorging van de weduwe Schimmel.
De hofstede werd in 1866 omschreven als Hofstede, bestaande in een Huijsinge, twee bergen, schuur, bakhuijs, schaapshok en boomgaard, bouw- en weiland, tot. 43 morgen.
