Op het afsterven van den wel-eerwaardigen heer Samuël Hoeufft, doktor in de godgeleerdheid, midsgaders predikant te Breda, Ten zelfden tijde, als hem de rust van zijn H: Dienstwerk was toegestaan, overleeden.

Dus was 't, dat vader Hoeufft, aan 't eind zijns loops bezweeken, Aan 't rustperk zijner baan, de zegekroon verkreeg; Die Godstolk, mild gedrenkt uit Palestines beeken, Wiens leer, als Hermons daauw, steeds lieflijk nederzeeg, Maar nimmer was gemengd in gal van bittre reden, Zelfs als hij 't kwaad berispte en sprak van 's Hoogsten Zag eindlijk, hoogbejaard, zijn krachten afgestreeden, (straf, Daar 't lighaam, gansch verzwakt, zijn arbeidslust begaf.[fol.
