Op 05-09-1944, de zogenaamde 'Dolle Dinsdag', werden de verschillende verzetsgroepen, waaronder de Ordedienst, samengevoegd tot een soort officiële krijgsmacht onder de naam BINNENLANDSE STRIJDKRACHTEN.
Van deze strijdkrachten heeft SIMON WIJNAND BRAVENBOER, vanaf de oprichtingsdatum 05-09-1944, deel uitgemaakt.
Bij de bevrijding was hij ingedeeld bij gewest 14 Zuid-Holland-Zuid, district V, Zwijndrecht, Bewakingstroepen, 2e Compagnie Hendrik Ido Ambacht, waar hij de functie vervulde van magazijnknecht.
Op 24-07-1945 werd het onderdeel waartoe SIMON WIJNAND BRAVENBOER behoorde overgeplaatst naar het Barakkenkamp in Oud Beijerland, waar hij in dienst bleef tot 01-10-1945, hij kon toen weer aan de slag bij scheepswerf De Groot & Van Vliet te Slikkerveer.
