Notes about Boudewijn Willemsz

Dijkgraaf en schout van Zuidland 1422, leenman van Putten, lid van de vierschaar 1433, schepen van Geervliet 1438. Hij bezat een Hoeve genaamd Drenkwaert te Westenrijk. Boudewijn Willemszoon was betrokken bij de inpoldering van de polder Westenrijk (Zuidland), wat wellicht tot de grote rijkdom van zijn nageslacht bijgedragen heeft. Verder was hij medefinancier van de bedijking van het Oudeland van Strijen na de St. Elisabethvloed. Zijn nakomelingen te Dordrecht bleven door het uitoefenen tallozer ambten met Voorne / Putten verbonden. Zijn grafschrift in de kerk van Geervliet:
"HIER LEYT BEGRAVEN BOUWEN WILLEMS DIE STARF INT JAER MCCCCLII OP SINT CATARINENDACH. BIT VOER SIJN SIEL".
Zijn zerk vertoont een staande figuur met banderol, waarop: "MATER DEI MESERERE MEI", tussen de benen zijn wapen: een zwaan.
