Notes about Diederik HOEUFFT

HOEUFFT (jhr. Diederik), heer van Fontaine-Peureuse en Reygersfort (of Reyersvoort, nabij Tricht), geb. te Dordrecht 1 Aug. 1648, overl. te Utrecht 2 Nov. 1719, begr. ald. in de St. Catherinakerk, zoon van Mr. Diederik (dl. III, kol. 594) en van Maria de Witt.

Hij woonde te Utrecht en was domheer aldaar 1669, 71, 83, 84 en 89; aide-de-camp van den generaal van Steenhuysen, heer van Heumen, 1672; commandant van de krijgsbezetting binnen Gouda, 1673; kapitein van de cavalerie en adjudant-generaal van den graaf van Waldeck in het leger van den hertog van Villahermosa in 1676; afgevaardigde vanwege de Staten (gedeputeerde tevelde) bij het leger van dien hertog in hetzelfde jaar; bewindhebber der W.I. Compagnie ter kamer van de Maas in 1684, evenzoo der O.I. Comp. ter kamer van Amsterdam van 1707-10 en had ook zitting onder de gedeputeerde Staten der provincie Utrecht. Bij diploma dd. 21 Aug. 1692 van keizer Leopold I werd hij met zijn wettige afstammelingen erkend als tot den adel te behooren.

Hij huwde te Amstelveen 13 Febr. 1680 met Isabella Agneta Deutz, geb. te Amsterdam 11 Juni 1658, overl. te Utrecht 19 Oct. 1694, begr. in de St. Catherinakerk, dochter van Jan en van Geertruida Bicker. Uit dit huwelijk sproten 3 zoons en 5 dochters, waarvan de zoons op jeugdigen leeftijd zijn overleden.

Portretten van hem en van zijn vrouw waren in 1905 bij jkvr. Singendonck te 's Gravenhage. Een zilveren schotel met het wapen van Diederik H. is in het Mauritshuis te 's Gravenhage (catal. no. 712).
