Dirk Versendaal married on 8 May 1919 in his birthplace Strijen, seat of municipality Strijen, in the southern part of the Dutch southwestern province Zuid-Holland to the also 24 years aged Magdalena Jakomina Nobel.

In 1920 Dirk and Magdalena Versendaal emigrated to the USA.

In 1930 Dirk Versendaal (35 y, born in the Netherlands), his wife Magdalena (34, Netherlands), their children Tina (9, Michigan), Aril (7, Michigan), Cornelius (5, Michigan) and Gerrit G (0, Michigan) lived in Laketown, Allegan County, in the western part of Michigan.

In April 1940 Dick Versendaal (45, shoemaker at a retail shop), his wife Magdeliena (45), their children Tena (19), Arie (17, shoe repairman at a retail dept), Cornelius (15), Gerrit G (10), Marie J (5, Michigan), Dick Allen (3, Michigan) and Jackelene Mae (3, Michigan) lived at an own farm, worth $3000, in Holland Township, Ottawa County Michigan. They lived in 1935 at a rural place in Allegan County, Michigan.

In 1942 Derk Versendaal (47 y) lived in Holland, Ottawa County, in the western part of Michigan when he was administrated on a World War II Draft Card (4th Registration) for the State of Michigan. He was then self employed with an own, not mentioned business.

His wife Magdalena died in January 1982 Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan, at the age of 87 years. Dirk Versendaal died there too in February 1986at the age of 91 years.
