Johannes Lotsy was de jongste zoon van Servaas Lotsy en Yda van Tricht. Hij was notararis en rentmeester te Breda, secretaris en stokhouder van Princenhage, advocaat te Leerdam (1796) en notaris-muntmeester te Dordrecht (1787) en rentmeester.
