Lijsbeth Pieterse Cuus is een afstammeling van de familie Kuijs. In diverse archieven word ze ecter vermeld als Elisabeth kous, Lijsje Kuus, Lijsje Elisabeth Keus, Lijsbeth Kous, Haar achternaam werd ook geregistreerd als; Cuus, Kues, Kuijs, Heus, Huus, (Kuis. haar achternaam werd aan elkaar geschreven zonder puntje op de i en werd dan gelezen als Cuus. Al deze verschillende interpretaties van de naam Kuis"Kuijs" komen dus voort uit de slechte handschriften van de administrateurs).  Er is en stamboom Kuijs gevonden als parenteel van de familie Brouwer. http://www.fredbrouwer.nl/ParenteelTHKuus.htm. Deze is door Hans Meijer gevonden, Lijsje Kuijs behoord tot een niet eerder uit gezochte tak van de familie Kuijs. Bewijs dat Lijsje, Kuijs heet is gevonden In de huwelijkse akte van Dirk de Groot & Antje Meijer.


Zij is waarschijnlijk pas op 14 jarige leeftijd Katholiek gedoopt. Zij werd ter doop gehouden door ene heer Thijmisse van der schuijt & mevrouw Trijntje Tijmis van der Meer. Op 22 maart 1762 was haar doop naam Elisabeth. zij trouwt op 15 januari 1773 met Rijk Janse Meijer. Zij is overleden op 2 oktober 1819 te Weesperkarspel en begraven in  (Weesp).
