Bastiaan de Koomen en zijn zuster Trijntje de Koomen, weduwe van Hendrik Batenburg; en Arij Arijse van de Merwe, Cornelis Cornelisse Batenburg en Jacob Scheer hebben zondagavond 10-2-1788 's avonds 11 uur verscheijde baldadigheden gepleegd aan huijsen der goede ingesetenen van desen dorpe zo het inslaan van glasen, schoppe en stooten op deuren en vensters in het bijzonder op de huizen van de schout, van Jan Breniken, Albertus Pesant, Andries Groeneveld, Jan Beijer en Jan van Dulken. Aanvoerder was Bastiaan de Koomen, voornoemde zuster van hem riep uit "al den donder in te slaan". Diverse jongens waren dronken gemaakt en voerden verscheijde baldadigheden uit zoals trommelen, schreeuwen, schelden, werpen van steenen.
